SEWING CAMPS – 2011

 

Session A - Beginner sewing

High school level

June 20 – 24, 9:30 – 11:30am

 

Learn sewing machine basics including how to insert the thread, wind and load a bobbin plus stitch fundamentals. Create 2 – 3 projects. Bring your own sewing machine or use one provided. All additional tools are provided.

 

Fee includes 10 hours of instruction, use of tools and all supplies: $ 93.00

 

 

Session B - Beginner sewing

Middle school level

June 20 – 24, 1:30  - 3:30 pm

 

Learn sewing machine basics including how to insert the thread, wind and load a bobbin plus stitch fundamentals. Camp includes 2 – 3 projects. Bring your own sewing machine or use one provided. All additional tools are provided.

Session C - Designer II/Summer continuation

Prerequisite: Designer I and II

June 28 – 30, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

 

Learn how to draft a personalized pattern for bodice or skirt, test fit and pattern accuracy in muslin. Use pattern to create 1 – 2 garments. Bring your own sewing machine or use one provided. All additional tools are provided.

 

Fee includes 10 hours of instruction, use of tools and all supplies: $ 93.00

 

 

Session D – Upcycling fashion

Prerequisite: Beginner sewing

July 18 – 21, 9:30 am – 12:00 noon

 

Learn how to refashion old garments into new designs. Possible projects include denim, t-shirts or felted wool. Camp includes 2 – 3 projects. Bring your own sewing machine or use one provided. All additional tools are provided.
